Free Hand Farm’s CSA Agreement

Picking up your Flower Share:

Members will be responsible for showing up at our pick-up location at Naomi’s Organic Farm Supply at 3454 SE Powell Blvd to get their bouquets. If, for whatever reason, you are unable to pick up your bouquet you must arrange for someone else to pick it up for you. You will be responsible for communicating our pick-up location and protocol. Any bouquets that are not picked up will be donated or sold. Pick-ups and deliveries will happen every Monday at a location in SE Portland.

Business accounts have the option to include vase and delivery for an additional cost. Priority is given to businesses in the SE Portland neighborhoods.

Growing Practices:

While Free Hand Farm is not currently a certified organic farm, we utilize organic practices in everything we do. We do not use conventional pesticides, herbicides, or fungicides. We utilize only all-natural, organic fertilizer. When possible our seeds are obtained from organic sources.

Any questions? Email us at flowers@freehand.farm and we’d be happy to dig into this deeper.

Farmer-Customer Commitments:

By selling memberships in advance of the growing season, CSA reduces the burden of up-front costs for the farmer. Your membership fees provide us with money to purchase seed and equipment before the season starts, and we appreciate your commitment. Your investment allows us to be farmers and we are so grateful for your support. In return, members will receive agreed upon shares and the satisfaction of knowing that your bouquet is coming from a local and loving farm that uses sustainable practices and believes in the health and safety of our farmers, our customers, and the planet.

One of the hard things about farming is the unforeseeable: pest infestation, natural disaster (fire, flood, or drought), unfavorable weather, or anything that results in the total loss of crops. By becoming a member, you are sharing in the risk. You are also, however, sharing in the over-abundance. When we have extra, you will be the first to know and reap the benefits.

Sharing in the Risk:

I understand that once I sign up and pay for my membership in full, I have secured my place in the CSA for the respective season. There are no refunds, either full or partial, for cancellation of my CSA once purchased. Members may choose to find an alternate person to buy out the rest of the season’s share, and the share ownership will be transferred to the alternate person. The alternate person will pay the original shareholder directly. I understand that I am responsible for informing Free Hand Farm if such a transfer occurs.

Payment:

You may coordinate the splitting of your CSA share with another individual. Free Hand Farm does not facilitate such arrangements, and does not coordinate special payment on split shares. You will make all arrangements yourself for collecting payment from the individual with whom you are splitting your share.
